The first diamond mine of Quebec should see the light
Stornoway Diamond Corporation, master builder of Renard project within the framework of a joint venture with SOQUEM INC. is about to bring into service the first diamond mine of Québec.
Named Foxtrot, this mine is located north of the Otish Mountains (James Bay area). The project is the fruit of several years of drilling, crushing thousands of tons of rock and several analyses. In 1996, Ashton Mining of Canada Inc. entered into a 50:50 joint venture with Diaquem to carry out regional reconnaissance work. Ashton Mining has since been replaced by Stornway Diamond Corporation.
